What Makes Renewal Solutions the Right Choice for Kitchen Island Installation

We’ve completed over 30 kitchens across New Jersey in the past year alone. And while every project is different, they all start the same way: with us listening.

Not every homeowner walks in knowing exactly what they want from a kitchen island installation right away. That’s completely normal. Part of what we do is help you figure that out.

What you’ll notice when you work with us is that we keep you in the loop every step of the way. Daily communication is just how we do things, not something we promise and then forget about once the project starts. If something changes, you hear about it directly. No surprises.

And when the island is finally in, cleaned up, and ready to use, you’ll see why the planning was worth it. A kitchen island that fits the room, the floor plan, and the way your family actually lives makes a real difference.

The Most Popular Kitchen Island Shapes

Here are the options we install most often for New Jersey homeowners, and what each one does best.

Rectangular

The classic. A straight rectangular island fits most kitchen layouts, offers a clean edge for seating, and is the most straightforward form to build around.

L-Shaped

Best for larger kitchens with open floor plans. The L-shape creates two natural zones, typically one for prep and one for seating or serving.

Waterfall

A waterfall countertop drops flush down one or both sides of the island, with no visible cabinet edge. It’s a clean, contemporary look, giving a polished quality that photographs beautifully if resale value is on your mind.

Custom-Built

Sometimes the room’s dimensions or floor plan don’t match any standard shape. We design and build custom islands from scratch when an assembled option won’t fit the space the way it should.

Budget and Timeline for Your Kitchen Island Project

We hear the same two concerns from almost every homeowner before a project starts: how much will this cost, and how long will it disrupt my home?

Budget
Here’s a way to think about the cost. If your kitchen island installation comes in at $12,000 and you use it every day for the next 15 years, that’s roughly $2.20 a day for a workspace that changes how your kitchen functions and adds lasting value to your home.

Timeline
Construction in your own home can feel like a lot to take on. We know that. Our team works from a clear project schedule, and we stick to it. Every workday ends with the space left clean. Every update comes to you directly. We don’t leave jobs in progress over weekends without a reason, and when we give you a completion date, we’re serious about it.

FAQs About Kitchen Island Installation in NJ

It really depends on what the project involves. A simpler island with assembled cabinets and a standard countertop can be completed in a week or less. A fully custom build that includes structural work, electrical, and plumbing usually runs two to three weeks. Either way, we’ll give you an honest timeline before anything starts, and we stick to it.
In most NJ townships, if your project involves electrical work, plumbing, or structural changes. Renewal Solutions manages the permitting process as part of your project scope. We know what each township requires and make sure every part of the installation is done to code. You don’t need to navigate the local building department on your own. That’s our job.
Quartz is the most popular option we install. It’s durable, non-porous, low-maintenance, and available in a wide range of finishes that can match or complement your existing kitchen materials. Butcher block adds warmth and character but requires more upkeep over time. Laminate is a budget-friendly option that has improved significantly in recent years. We’ll walk you through the choices based on how you actually use your kitchen.
The standard guideline is 42 inches of clearance on all sides of the island for comfortable movement, though some layout adjustments can create that room if it doesn’t exist yet. During our initial visit, we review your floor plan and give you a straight answer about what’s possible. If a full island isn’t realistic for the space, there are often other configurations worth considering.
